"It's All Good" - Kyle Tredway First heard in the closing scene of One In A Million, this version is the only one available on Youtube. The version heard in the film is available on iTunes for download, however. You can also check it out on Spotify. The next in a long line of new intros following Higher Ground, this song perfectly captures how love is all you need, and, indeed, joining the POstables the week of Norman and Rita's wedding, things are "all good" and about to "get even better."
The Sunrise If you frequent A&D you know this piece of score was a very special early delivery to POstables courtesy of master composer James Jandrisch just ahead of Lost Without You. In To The Altar, it accompanies the scene during which Oliver reads the letter found in the pocket of the wedding dress Shane tried on.
Trois Gymnopédies - Erik Satie Just gifted to us by James Jandrisch this past weekend pre-premiere, this piano piece captured the "wonder, hardship and innocence" of youth. It could be heard as Mr. Frye recounted the heroic stories Annaliese told her daughter during their Sunday teas. Read more about it here.
Here's Looking At You - Kyle Treadway It may have been Norman's Bachelor party, but this song encompassed Shane and Oliver's journey perfectly. So it's no wonder it was playing as Joe confronted Oliver about his inability to make eye contact with her the entire evening and get Oliver thinking about his ultimate intention for his relationship with Shane.
Clair De Lune - Claude Debussy When Oliver said, "I love you," you might have noticed a familiar piece of music playing in the background. Previously heard during their epic kiss at the end of Higher Ground as a piano piece, a few bars are played here on a string instrument. The musical connection between that epic moment and this one is hard to miss. You can read more about the significance of the piece, its history and the deeper connection to the story by checking out The Sentimental Walk series.
"Every Morning" - Keb' Mo' Listen on: Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Buy on: iTunes, Amazon Originally a piece heavily associated with Shane and Oliver's journey in Higher Ground, this beautiful song played during the wedding processional. |
Make Someone Happy - Keb' Mo' A classic song, Keb' Mo' gave it an acoustic twist in the closing sequence of To The Altar as the newly married Norman and Rita, and newly engaged Shane and Oliver celebrate the new season they've entered together with a dance, one reminiscent of the end of For Christmas. I've posted the version by Tony Bennett because that's the one I'm most familiar with!
Definitely Happy,
