No Ordinary Spud?
I find it extremely meaningful the two are tending a garden together in the second picture. Norman sure does seem interested in the quality of the soil, and it might even be that they chose to plant the potato amidst other garden vegetables in what seems like a community garden. The couple that grows together, stays together, right? One wonders if it wasn't a project funded by the O'Toole Foundation---after all, Oliver and Papa O'Toole seem to be enjoying lunch there together in other photos from the gallery.
Keeping Busy
No question---Papa O'Toole needs a new hobby. It's safe to assume he has no intention of returning to the wilderness, and I think that's best for all our sake! One wonders if he doesn't find himself interested in agriculture. It's an outdoor activity that leaves him less prone to encounter anything dangerous. Also remember that his Lost Without You "list of buckets" included planting a vegetable garden.
Or perhaps he has taken up some other activity to keep him occupied. Perhaps one that causes him to cross paths with Ramon? You might remember a photo like this popping up during filming that has the two looking pretty chummy in both Week 1 and Week 3: |

Holding Vigil
I was immediately stuck on this image for reasons I'll be elaborating on over the next few days. But the first thing that struck me about it is the fact it's the first time in a long time we've seen Oliver at Shane's house. And it's certainly the first we've witnessed him performing maintenance on her swing. For some reason I believe he's alone and without Shane, this act a way of keeping close to her in her absence, given how close the swing is to her heart. I have fallen in absolute love with the idea. I can't wait to tell you more about why in the coming days!
