We're celebrating our first birthday on A&D. And isn't appropriate her character will be the first to celebrate in the series, too?!

First, if on the off-chance you're reading this, Kristin, you should know that Postables were so adamant about acknowledging your birthday that they unanimously voted to postpone the release of a #ShOliver fanvid in order to celebrate.

Essentially there is no other reason for this post than to celebrate all the reasons Kristin is awesome and we love her, in no particular order.

Reason #1: Her style is so on point that everyone else has to catch up. Case in point, that pink blazer above. And she totally gives Taylor Swift a run for her money in the matching two-piece department. Truth be told, a challenge has been issued, T-Swift---your move.

Reason #2: She has left enough of a footprint in the U.S. film/TV market that we get to appreciate her range as an actor---might take a little bit of work on your part to find those footprints, however.
In 2003 she starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in a quirky little heist movie called Foolproof. Yes, you read that correctly---Ryan Reynolds. I've got proof. And you do, too, when you watch Foolproof on Youtube. See also: At Home, By Myself... With You--- She's kind of amazing in it. [I watched this movie during a rare night of insomnia and loved so much I forgot how much being up all night would suck the next day.] Good luck finding this one in the U.S., though. Enlist your Shane hacking skills and you might find it online...I did. Oh, and did I forget to mention that one time she played all the SSD characters at once? Netflix, everyone. If you need a new series to get into, I would try Orphan Black---I hear Kristin's in a few episodes. ;-) |

Reason #3: There's a 97% chance Kristin has favorited at least one of your twitter mentions [the 3% margin is only if your tweet really wasn't that clever---it happens to the best of us]. Who else do you know that takes time to do that? Right, probably no one. She's a bright ray of sunshine in your Twitter life.

Reason #4: Kristin totally taught us what real #SquadGoals look like---on the SSD set and everywhere else.
She, along with Crystal, is the only reason we even know what transpires on the SSD sets most days---and we couldn't be more grateful! As I can attest, this blog would have probably imploded already if it hadn't been for the copious amount of content mined from Kristin's twitter and instagram. For that alone I personally owe her an extra debt of gratitude! |

Reason #5: Shane is the only character on television right now I would have no qualms whatsoever about my future daughter wanting to emulate. Kristin plays this character, which automatically makes her that much more awesome.

Reason #6: Since we're already talking about Shane, let's go ahead and talk about how amazing Kristin is at this character. If we've gushed about her on twitter once, we've done it a hundred times, and we're probably still gushing over her performance months after it airs (From Paris with Love, anyone?). Best believe there will be more to gush about ahead...

Reason #7: Kristin is a mom, wife AND actor. While I'm sure it probably isn't easy juggling all of those roles at all times, the simple fact she is accomplishing it gives all women hope that it's achievable. And, of course, we love her for it!
