Returning Returners
And then there's Serge---vow of silence, poverty and all. He may be legitimately quirky, but he never fails to elicit a smile. Good luck in Minnesota, buddy!
Both reappearances mark an interesting trend in From The Heart that I'll be taking the next few days to highlight (and may very well blow your mind).
Calling It Like They See It
Rita reaffirmed that Shane and Oliver's chemistry isn't something she should give up on just yet, while Norman went to bat for Oliver in determining a potential path forward for Valentine's Day plans with Shane---even if his interpretation was slightly suspect...
#Awkward
I never expected the semi-shoutout to fans re: #NoRita---though they were careful to make sure that the hashtag remained unidentified inside the world of SSD. I will say, however, that I immediately felt convicted to stop using it. They aren't real people (Or are they? I've started to blur the lines! Haha), but there is a point to be made about the internet's desire to push prematurely what is meant to be organically developed. On a side note, I really appreciated that Oliver is still clueless about social media, yet Norman was spewing social jargon as comfortably as any millennial! |
Man Time
"Norman and I need some man time." It's a red letter day, POstables---Oliver O'Toole admitted his need for some one-on-one time with Norman in nature. We won't mark it on a calendar, but we will appreciate that he not only saw an opportunity to support Norman, but also a way to curb his anticipation and anxiety over the Valentine sent to Shane. I am liking this trend where Norman and Oliver rely on each other for support, and it's only going to become more critical as they drop their rafts in the river---if you get my drift. (Get it? Rafts....drift...) |
