Night at the Museum "Amazing how such an innocuous place can leave such a deep impression." The Postables are in D.C. for the opening of an exhibit dedicated to their work, but it's one of the museum's permanent installments that has all their attention. Author's Note: Before we ever heard the Postables were going to D.C., I was inspired to write something based on my visit to the National Postal Museum---the result of which you read about yesterday. Some of my pre-FPWL thoughts and analysis are reflected in this one! Now I didn't write this one, but in the spirit of including ALL of the fanfics based in D.C. currently available, I wanted to make sure this one-shot by AlittleGandA made the cut: Rewriting History Shane wanted to give Oliver a sweeter memory of the National Postal Museum. Oliver/Shane future fic. |
As part of Washington Week: Extended Edition, I thought I would share them with you all! Maybe they will tide you over until you have a chance to write some of your own, or get your imagination going as to what might happen with our Postables come Fall!
Now as you already know, I don't own any of the characters or the world they operate in, they belong first and foremost to Martha, then to Hallmark. I do, however, enjoy using the world she created as a creative playground for my own imagination, careful to honor the essence of each and every character as Martha created them. Consider that my version of the "no copyright infringement intended" statement. :)
A Temporary Diversion
She was only supposed to be in D.C. for a week, but when Shane's temporary reassignment gets unexpectedly extended, she starts to miss her friends back home. You meet a new character in this one, who recurs in "Night at the Museum."
Author's Note: This one actually took me a year to finish! The reason is that I am apparently more "meta" than I thought, and found myself unable to write about a place I had never been to. Lucky for me, I made my first trip to our nation's capital this past May---the one you read a bit about yesterday---which helped me complete the project!
Happy Reading!
