#ShOliver Is All Our Relationship Goals

A GIF review of Shane & Oliver fulfilling all our relationship goals, because that's what they do all day, every day---and this review is still probably only half the story.

He was intrigued from the moment she said, "Steamboat Americano."
She was hooked from the minute he said, "theoretically."

And, as we know, coffee became a thing for these two...

So did epic timing...

Shane and Oliver clicked from the very beginning, whether they realized it or not.

And because we weren't sure where this relationship was going to go at the time, we were still wondering if this look meant Shane and Oliver were endgame while the credits rolled...

We didn't have to wait long for an answer, because they were flirting like crazy in the opening minutes of the series premiere.

From then on, they became the standard by which all other "'ships" should be judged, affectionately known collectively as #ShOliver.

They've taught us that witty banter is the best kind of flirting...

To drop everything to be there for the people who need you...

That the world stops when you've found the right one...

How to learn to love the things about our significant others that aggravate us the most, and make light of it...

To always keep dancing...

Keep each other accountable, even if uncomfortable...

That there's something to be said about looking amazing together, too...

Literally my favorite shot of these two together to date!

And most of all, that if we should find ourselves in a relationship even half as beautiful as theirs, we should consider ourselves truly #blessed.

Ahhhh...this makes me want to go watch every single episode again...cannot wait to see them with music! Yeah!

Take it from someone who had the pleasure of sourcing all these GIFs from a casual review of all kinds of #ShOliver moments throughout the course of the series---I encourage you going back and binge-watching from the very beginning!

I'll tell you, these aren't even HALF the GIFs I pulled lol

The one thing that truly struck me about #Sholiver really solidified in my mind in SSD Paris...Holly & Oliver could not communicate, so holly communicated her frustrations by leaving, then by writing her feelings in a poem. Shane & Oliver seemed able to talk from the start. She about her dad & why she now breaks the rules; he about his absent wife. The other thing in SSD Paris that really made the Shane & Oliver story more clear as a journey was that when Holly & Oliver were at the Brown Palace Hotel, he made sure to note tell her he wrote that letter a long time ago, as if to say the feelings expressed in that letter were no longer true. Of course that led me down the "then why did you mail it" path, because by the end of the time when he and Shane were locked in the bank vault, it was clear that during the reading of Jonathan's & Katherine's letters, Oliver was thinking of Shane and not his absent wife.
I am so looking forward to this week and hearing how we all think this great story will play out. The endgame seems clear. I just wonder how many bumps in the road we'll all have to endure.

Nice post. I remember them all but the one you used for making light of aggravating characteristics. Which scene/quote is that?

Julie - I think that was one of the reasons that Oliver was so hesitant to send that letter. I think he was afraid that Holly would come back - since he gave her that option. And yet, to have any hope of a future with Shane, he had to mail it. There had to be a resolution for him to move forward.

jt - the sequence you mention is from the Dark of Night (episode 8).
They are at the Mailbox Grille reading Melissa's letter and Oliver stops when he gets to the name of the hotel and Shane wants him to keep reading.

Chandel - once again, I love it ! Each scene and so many more. I love when they are discussing their ideas of fun when Oliver got tickets for the four of them to go to a Saturday seminar on the future of home delivery :
Oliver : "You could have just said that you were busy."
Shane : "And what would you have learned ?"
