Oliver and I have a lot in common---as in Truth Be Told, we share a lot of common anger towards our fathers. I was angry at my dad for leaving me behind when I was twelve. There have been a lot of painful experiences that my mind has still not forgotten and I would rather not mention. I didn’t forgive or speak to my father for ten years.
But then I turned twenty, and came to know Christ. Now, at twenty-nine, I watch Signed, Sealed, Delivered, and see that forgiveness is the first step in really living again. After the wisdom of this blog, Martha Williamson and Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I have decided to take the first step towards forgiving my father and be on speaking terms with him. After all, he still my father, and God would want me to love despite everything. God taught me through Signed, Sealed, Delivered about forgiveness. And I will forever be blessed and grateful in knowing what true forgiveness really is and what it means to me. |
As always, the Living Letters series continues as long as there are stories (or even praise reports) to share, and I'm always looking for submissions. If you would like to contribute something about how Signed, Sealed, Delivered has impacted your life (or even your wardrobe) that you'd be willing to share here on A&D, feel free to email me. Keep the good going and submit yours today!
