Rita encountered a lot of obstacles on her way to that technicolor future of hers, but living the life she always dreamed of was truly only a few bold decisions away.
A Chapter Re-Written: The Rise of Rita Haywith
Finding the courage to step out was only the beginning for Rita. As the National Miss Special Delivery Pageant demonstrated, she was not only capable of coming to the aid of a fellow contestant, but show grace in the midst of adversity, adding a whole other dimension to her character.

For Rita, her signature owl has been a reminder that "someone out there thinks [she's] special," and had remained a staple even as she has come into her own. |

For Rita, he name is merely a confirmation of the ultimate truth she has only recently embraced---that she is, indeed, quite special. Her name and her journey have been inextricably linked from the very beginning.
