You might remember Living Letter contributor, Lisa, who got a word from Minor Character, Serge. Like Serge, Lisa "didn't have a card for [life]" at the time. Here's an excerpt from her letter that sums it up:
"Sometimes life doesn’t go as we planned. I am nearing my mid thirties, I am still single with no children, and I followed the Lord to a different state far from my family so that I could take advantage of the Master’s degree He laid in my lap at no cost to me, beyond living expenses. And even some of those were covered by my university, and I made friends, I flourished in school…and then I came home.
I was not prepared for the job market. In other words, I didn’t have a card for what awaited me. And I felt lost a while, I even fell back on what I had always been most comfortable doing…writing…while I looked for a new job. I had left a stable job (though the job was going through flux at the time) in faith to pursue my Master’s. Then upon coming home and not being able to make my Masters into a full-time career, I had to accept work that was far below my education level to make ends meet. And I didn’t have a card for that, and now it’s been three years, and I wonder when this valley will end."
Well, she has an update for you:
Basically, if I had not been working at this job that is far below my "Masters" level of education, I never would have been offered this new position. So my main point is that God ALWAYS has a plan, even in the times that look to us like "valleys."
As always, the Living Letters series continues as long as there are stories (or even praise reports) to share, and I'm always looking for submissions. If you would like to contribute something about how Signed, Sealed, Delivered has impacted your life (or even your wardrobe) that you'd be willing to share here on A&D, feel free to email me. Keep the good going and submit yours today!
