This is an object lesson in how to do what I do, with a little bit of scoop included.

You wouldn't know it from this unassuming an innocent picture posted by her very proud casting agency that she is actually a fierce model, as one discovers when visiting Alexandria Kayy's Facebook Page. But more than that, she's also Miss World Canada 2014!
As the Postables have taught us time and again, it only takes one bit of information to make a lead. And it's what you do from there that makes all the difference. Being a lot like Shane, I go immediately to the internet. |

In this case it was KC Talent's post showing up in search results for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and "Truth be told." So I had a name--Alex Kayy. The next step is to see if I could connect the name to anything, whether a Facebook page, twitter account, and even instagram if I'm lucky!
When I first found Alexandria Kayy I couldn't definitively connect her to anything solid. This means she could have very well been a background character that we never saw. As a result, I sat on the lead until more definitive information became available, which only happened recently!
For a minute I proudly proclaimed that this young lady was a long-lost sister of Oliver's. What other kind of information could "shake Oliver to his core?"
But when you do what I do, you learn that until you've positively identified without a doubt what role a person will be playing, you're still one declaration away from being wrong.
So I busted back out my withheld piece of scoop and tried again. Now that we know the films' premise, we might be able to place her another way.
I hit the jackpot.

So it seems Miss Kayy is playing the bully in this upcoming film! Definitely a departure from the bubbly and fun personality you'll get the impression of when looking at her social accounts, but an actor must play as many different characters as possible to build range and depth.
How do I know she's the bully in Truth Be Told? Well, because this picture was posted on May 22, 2015 and Truth Be Told filmed from May 13-June 3, 2015. Also, the production name for this film was "Signed, Sealed, Delivered MOW 2," with MOW standing for "movie of the week." |
Needless to say you can learn a lot with a little bit of patience and ingenuity. Much like with prayer, you don't always get all the answers you're looking for at once. But if you have a faith and give things time, you might get an answer you didn't expect.
Now I don't think I have to tell you that you need to tune into Truth Be Told when it airs on September 13. But do keep an eye out for Alex Kayy!
