From Jandrisch With Love
Lost In Translation
If only the international version had aired in the U.S., then A&D might never have had a chance! The international version tackles more about Holly and Oliver than the U.S. version, answering questions about which I rigorously debated in the early days of the blog. Oh, and did I mention more Ramon? Nothing better than getting a new perspective on an old favorite! |
Examined: Blizzard Theory
You never forget your first major theory---and this one is no exception. Based on the idea that Holly and Oliver's blizzard and repeated references to spring were connected, I created a series-long narrative that traced the transformations of Shane and Oliver hearts and how they helped each other grow. |
Examined: Object Lesson
Still finding my voice (and blessed by how much it has improved over the year) I introduced the idea that stories were being told through much more than just dialogue. Holly and Shane's individual unsupervised time at Oliver's desk in this film opened my eyes to how seemingly unconnected moments could be the key to unlocking a deeper narrative. |
Between The Lines: Oliver, Shane & The Porch
An overwhelming favorite from recent months---likely due to the subtitled video--- this post revealed a deeper avenue for discussing the nature of Shane and Oliver's relationship than I anticipated. Any time I learn more than I expect going into a post, the more likely it is to become an instant favorite with me! |
